Lead poisoning and workers

Lead poisoning and workers More than 1 million workers in over 100 different occupations may be exposed to lead. In lead-related industries, workers not only inhale lead dust and fumes, but may also bring lead dust home if they do not shower and change clothing prior to leaving the job site.

Some occupations with lead exposure include painting, construction, renovation, lead smelters, battery plants, automotive repair, plumbing and firing ranges. Even hobbies such as making stained glass, fishing weights or lures, bullets and pottery involve the use of lead.
